Since 1952, the Kaplan Telephone Company has been dedicated to establishing rewarding relationships with their customers by providing quality Wireless, Broadband, Cable TV, Security, and Digital Telephone Services. In 2017, the company shortened it's name to Kaptel and came to me for a billboard to both inform and reassure their clients that they would receive the same great service - just under a new name.
Janenne deClouet is interested in more than taking a photograph. She is a quiet master of capturing the moment. For these cards, I set out to highlight her insightful eye. Printed with multiple backs, these cards showcase her impeccable composition, use of light, and the beautiful locations she photographs in. Within the frame of her logo, a precious moment always comes into focus.
Duc In Altum - meaning "draw into the deep" in Latin - was started in 2016 by Janenne deClouet. Janenne is a knowledgable tour guide who will craft a kayaking trip to your interests and a paddle with her will make you fall in love with Louisiana's wildlife and waterways. These rack cards served to acquaint potential clients to her kayaking packages including espresso paddles, kayaking 101, and sunset paddles among many other offerings - even one for engagements.
In French, 'mélange' means mixture. I liked the idea of having the business cards for this hair salon mimic that theme. What came out of that is a business card with 7 different designs for the back, each reflecting a different hair texture or style - short, straight, curly, kinky, braided, etc. The result is a fun piece that the owner will enjoy handing out to potential customers.
In keeping with the theme, the services menu needed the same drama as the business cards. Choosing the braided hair illustration on the front for subtle interest and cleanly laying out the services and prices on the back gives this menu a clean 'no muss, no fuss' feel.
I was approached by celebrated local writer Joshua Caffery to assist him in producing a print for a poem from his latest book, In the Creole Twilight. I was excited about this opportunity because while Josh wrote the poems, his wife, Claire, produced the corresponding illustrations. The drawing for this particular poem was inspired by Pieter Bruegel the Elder's painting Netherlandish Proverbs. Matching his verses with the corresponding pieces of her illustration created an engaging promotional print.
From the Bench is a bi-monthly publication that is sent to all of Stuller's bench jeweler customers. This resource showcases new products, features designs from members of BenchJeweler.com, shares step-by-step processes and informs of upcoming events in the jewelry industry. I orchestrated a facelift of the publication in July of 2014, taking it from a tabloid-size newsletter format to the more compact letter-size magazine look.
When Spa Mizan, a local Lafayette spa (and one of the top Aveda spas in the country) moved the business across town in 2009, these cards were designed as mailable pieces aimed at their potential opposite-side-of-town clientele. Showcasing photos of the newly designed interior and incorporating copy with zen-like focus, these cards encouraged recipients to take care of themselves and those around them.
For my senior thesis project, we were required to produce at least 10 pieces of packaging for our fictional hotel. As you can see here, I got a little carried away, creating 30-some odd pieces. These pieces included - votive candle duo box, wine label and custom wine box, pop-up self mailer, resort postcards, pillowcases, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, and even a resort-branded disposable camera.
